Welcome to Sisters School District
As a community we have much to be proud of in Sisters. Through the Sisters Country visioning process, it was obvious that our schools are a large pride point for our community. By most traditional measures, we have one of the strongest school districts in the state. We believe that a comprehensive education grounded in the community’s core values is key to the success of all students in Sisters Country.
Located in Deschutes County, Sisters schools are one of the top school districts in Oregon, with a strong track record of academic achievement and growth. We are proud to share with you our accomplishments and the value we bring to the Sisters community.
A great education is the cornerstone of this community. It is why families live and businesses choose to locate in Sisters. Our community and schools work collaboratively and support each other – ensuring students have access to high quality programs and opportunities so that our young people are prepared for great careers and bright futures. In fact, our graduation rate for 2022-23 is 96% and our students are set up for success as they choose to enter the workforce, enlist in the military or continue their education in college.
We believe that success in schools goes beyond test scores, and that’s why we work closely with our staff and parents to provide an environment that is centered on the individual needs of every student. Sisters schools offer classes and programs beyond the basics, including but not limited to variety of AP courses, dual college credit courses, visual and performing arts, AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination), ASPIRE, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, IEE (Interdisciplinary Environmental Expedition), and Luthier program. In addition, we have several Career and Technical Education(CTE) programs including, Construction, Health and Fire Emergency Medical Service, Culinary Arts and Flight Science classes.
Our schools also get excellent results at a reasonable cost to our taxpayers.
Strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand. In Sisters, we all share a common goal of high-quality education, efficient operations and strong community. We look forward to this journey together as we continually seek to prepare our students to be the successful leaders of tomorrow.
